Biden Unleashes Powerful Ad Aimed At Trump

They waited until Trump released his stance.

Following former President Donald Trump’s assertion that abortion laws should be handled by individual states rather than imposing a nationwide ban, President Joe Biden’s campaign swiftly launched its latest abortion-focused advertisement for the 2024 election. The 60-second ad, premiering on MSNBC, centers on Amanda Zurawski, a Texas resident who took legal action against the state following a harrowing miscarriage experience.

In the ad, Amanda and her husband Josh recount their preparations for parenthood, including purchasing items for their expected child, such as a baby book. Tragically, at 18 weeks into the pregnancy, Amanda’s water broke, leading to a miscarriage. The ad alleges that due to the impact of Donald Trump’s policies on abortion rights, Amanda was deprived of standard medical care to prevent infection and obtain an abortion, ultimately resulting in severe health complications.

Forced to return home without adequate medical intervention, Amanda later suffered from sepsis, requiring intensive care. The ad emphasizes the profound physical and emotional toll of these events, with Amanda expressing anguish while her husband consoles her, culminating in the message: “Donald Trump did this.”

Part of a $30 million advertising campaign, the ad will be broadcast in battleground states across local and national television platforms, including popular entertainment and sports programs such as ESPN, Comedy Central, and prime-time shows like Saturday Night Live and Grey’s Anatomy.

The Zurawskis’ ordeal underscores broader concerns about reproductive rights, particularly in states like Texas, where access to services like in vitro fertilization is under threat. As Biden and Democrats navigate the aftermath of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, they aim to leverage this issue in the upcoming election, drawing on its potency as a rallying point for voters, as demonstrated in the 2022 midterm elections.
