They are comparing Biden to Einstein and Harris to Lincoln.
During a rally in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, Republican vice-presidential candidate JD Vance criticized the media for its portrayal of political figures, claiming that they have elevated President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris to unrealistic heights. Vance suggested that the media had depicted Biden as being as brilliant as Albert Einstein and is now trying to present Harris as the “second coming of Abraham Lincoln.”
Vance expressed his frustration with what he sees as media dishonesty, remarking, “For three and a half years, the media portrayed President Biden as incredibly sharp and intelligent. Now, they’re trying to convince us that Kamala Harris is a modern-day Lincoln. We simply don’t buy it.”
Since his nomination by former President Donald Trump, Vance has frequently criticized mainstream news organizations. In a recent Fox News interview, he emphasized his desire for genuine debates with his vice-presidential opponent, Tim Walz. Vance expressed a preference for debates with real audiences and meaningful discussions, dismissing any debates he considers contrived or staged by the media.
Additionally, Vance has been involved in a public dispute with CNN anchor Brianna Keilar, who questioned his military service. Keilar had highlighted discrepancies between Vance’s title as a “combat correspondent” and his actual role, which did not involve direct combat. Vance responded angrily on social media, accusing CNN of dishonesty and hypocrisy. Keilar later conceded that Vance served honorably in Iraq.
