Trump Teases VP Reveal

He’s dropping clues.

As the Republican National Convention approaches in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, speculation is mounting about former President Trump’s choice for running mate and the timing of his announcement. During an interview on Fox News’ “Hannity,” Trump indicated his preference to announce his pick during the convention itself, although logistical considerations may lead to an earlier decision.

“We’d love to do it during the convention,” Trump stated, acknowledging the complexities involved. He suggested the announcement might occur shortly before or even during the convention week.

When pressed by Sean Hannity about potential candidates, including Sens. Marco Rubio, JD Vance, Tim Scott, and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, Trump confirmed they are all under consideration. He highlighted the depth of talent within the Republican Party, describing it as having “a great bench.”

While Trump hinted at having some preferences, he clarified that a final decision has not been made, contrasting this with earlier statements hinting he had already chosen someone but hadn’t disclosed it.

Trump’s team and sources close to him have discussed various contenders, with Burgum, Vance, and Rubio frequently mentioned as front-runners. Rubio is scheduled to join Trump at a campaign rally, while plans involving Vance for an upcoming event near Pittsburgh remain uncertain.

Despite widespread speculation, Trump’s campaign has cautioned against premature assumptions, emphasizing that only Trump himself knows the actual timing and choice for his running mate.
