Trump Dares Biden To Keep Debate Pledge

Time is running out for Biden.

Former President Donald Trump has called for a presidential debate with President Biden, following expressions of interest from both 2024 candidates. Trump penned a brief “letter to Joe” via his social media platform, Truth Social, urging Biden to coordinate a debate. In his message, Trump proposed various venues, including the White House and New York City.

Addressing Biden’s recent commitment to a debate on the Howard Stern Show, Trump emphasized his readiness to engage in a debate anywhere Biden chooses. He reiterated his previous suggestions for potential debate locations, highlighting the White House and New York City. Trump also criticized what he termed “ELECTION INTERFERENCE” by left-wing factions.

The exchange of debate challenges between the two candidates began after Biden expressed willingness to debate the presumptive 2024 Republican nominee during an appearance on the Howard Stern Show. On the same day Trump issued his letter, Biden responded positively to the idea of a debate when questioned by reporters.

Despite the mutual interest expressed by Trump and Biden, no concrete progress has been made in organizing a debate. The Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) plans to adhere to its original schedule, extending debate invitations to qualifying candidates in early September. The first presidential debate is slated for September 16 at Texas State University, with subsequent debates scheduled for October 1 in Virginia and October 9 in Salt Lake City. Additionally, a vice-presidential debate is set for September 25 in Pennsylvania.
