He is praising Trump’s win.
Former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy strongly criticized former United Nations ambassador Nikki Haley and framed former President Trump’s triumph in New Hampshire as a victory for the “America first” ideology over the “America last” approach.
During his speech at Trump’s election headquarters following the victory over Haley, Ramaswamy asserted, “What unfolded tonight is the triumph of America first over America last. That’s the essence of what happened tonight. If someone aligns with America last, they can turn to Joe Biden or another candidate still lingering in the Republican primary. If you fancy cutting your social security to channel more funds to Ukraine for the benefit of kleptocrats, then Nikki Haley is your choice.”
Emphasizing Trump’s substantial double-digit victory, Ramaswamy lauded him as the flagbearer of the “America first” movement, underscoring the importance of prioritizing U.S. interests. He criticized Haley for remaining in the race, characterizing it as a manifestation of the “ugly underbelly of American politics,” where mega-donors attempt to sway outcomes against the will of the people.
Ramaswamy called on the public to resist such influence, stating, “It’s up to us, the people, to finally declare, hell no. We, the people, establish a government accountable to us, and tonight, we, the people, have once again declared that we want Donald J. Trump, just as we did in Iowa.”
Following his record-setting third victory in the New Hampshire primary, Trump expressed gratitude, saying, “I’m very honored by the result.” Meanwhile, Haley, in a speech to her supporters in Concord, New Hampshire, congratulated Trump on his victory, acknowledging the merit of his achievement.
Despite speculations within the political class suggesting the race was concluded, Haley countered, saying, “New Hampshire is first in the nation, not last. This race is far from over.” The political focus now shifts to South Carolina, where the next primary is scheduled. Trump maintains a substantial lead over Haley in the Palmetto State, according to the Real Clear Politics average of polls, setting the stage for the upcoming phase of the Republican primary.
