Ramaswamy Asserts Only Two Options For Americans

There are only two “American First” candidates.

During a town hall in Marengo, Iowa, Vivek Ramaswamy, a Republican presidential candidate, asserted that he and former President Donald Trump are the sole candidates championing an “America First” agenda within the Republican field.

Addressing supporters, the 38-year-old entrepreneur stated firmly, “I think there’s two America first candidates in this race: that’s Donald Trump and me.”

Ramaswamy prompted the audience to express their inclinations by asking who among them was considering supporting his candidacy or Trump’s. He acknowledged the number of attendees leaning toward his candidacy, juxtaposing it with those considering voting for Trump in the upcoming Iowa presidential caucuses on Jan. 15, emphasizing the overlap in their shared America First approach.

Having campaigned on an “America First 2.0” agenda, Ramaswamy has aligned his policies with Trump’s emphasis on addressing U.S. trade deficits and reassessing America’s commitments to global trade organizations. With the Iowa Caucuses just around the corner, these initial votes hold substantial significance in shaping the trajectory of the primary season, often establishing momentum crucial for candidates’ viability.

Notably, Ramaswamy garnered the endorsement of former Republican Iowa Rep. Steve King, an endorsement that carries weight within the state’s political landscape, potentially influencing voter perspectives on his candidacy.
