Obama Steps In To Guide Biden After Debate

Faith in Biden has dropped dramatically.

President Biden has enlisted prominent figures, including former President Barack Obama, to bolster his re-election campaign. However, following Biden’s lackluster performance in the recent presidential debate against Donald Trump, even Obama appears to harbor concerns about Biden’s chances in November.

According to The Washington Post, Obama privately acknowledged to supporters that Biden’s path to re-election has become more challenging since the debate. Obama reportedly reached out to Biden after the debate to offer words of encouragement, although Obama’s spokesperson did not comment on his private remarks to the Post.

Despite these private concerns, a spokesperson for the Biden campaign, Lauren Hitt, emphasized Obama’s steadfast support for Biden throughout the campaign. Hitt described Obama as a crucial messenger to voters and a trusted advisor to Biden.

Publicly, Obama has not called for Biden to withdraw from the race but instead urged him to persevere. Following the debate, Obama took to social media to underscore the stakes of the election, emphasizing the choice between someone who he believes fights for ordinary people and someone who prioritizes self-interest and dishonesty.

Obama’s support for Biden has been visible through his participation in major fundraisers. He joined Biden at events in New York City and Los Angeles, helping to raise significant sums for the campaign. These efforts underscore Obama’s continued influence within the Democratic Party and his commitment to supporting Biden despite recent challenges.
