Even the democrats are sick of him.
A recent NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll indicates a growing inclination among the American populace toward supporting a potential House impeachment inquiry against President Biden. The survey, released on Wednesday, unveils that 49% of U.S. adults would back the House of Representatives initiating an impeachment inquiry into Biden over alleged family-related corruption, while 48% would not support such a move.
This upsurge in support contrasts with the findings from October, where 47% favored an inquiry, while 52% were opposed. Notably, 24% of Democrats seem to support the notion of an impeachment inquiry, despite a significant majority (74%) opposing it.
The survey also highlights Biden’s largely unfavorable approval ratings, with only 40% of adults approving of his presidential performance, while 53% express disapproval. Among independents, the disapproval rate rises to 59%, significantly impacting his overall standing. Additionally, even among traditionally Democratic younger voters—Gen Z and Millennials—only 39% approve of Biden’s performance, while 50% disapprove.
Comparatively, Biden marginally edges out former President Trump in favorability, with 40% of adults viewing Biden favorably, slightly surpassing Trump’s 38%.
In a hypothetical scenario for the 2024 presidential election, 49% of registered voters would vote for Biden, while 48% would choose Trump. Biden trails Trump among independent voters (45%-50%) but surprisingly holds a slim advantage among Gen Z and Millennial voters (52%-48%).
The poll covers various contentious policy topics, including funding for Ukraine and Israel, border security, abortion, and gender issues. It reveals divided opinions on funding for both Ukraine and Israel, while the majority opposes allowing Palestinian refugees from Gaza into the U.S. A significant 54% support constructing a physical wall at the southern border, and views on transgender issues and abortion rights exhibit diverse perspectives across the American populace.
