Liberal Filmmaker Melts Down After Trump Prediction Fails

He’s attacking Americans now.

Filmmaker Michael Moore voiced his frustration with the results of the 2024 election on Wednesday, expressing disappointment with Americans for re-electing Donald Trump by a significant margin. Moore, who had been vocal before the election about Trump’s defeat, now lamented the nation’s actions, calling Americans “not a good people.” In a post on his website, Moore reflected on the dark chapters of U.S. history, such as the genocide of Native Americans, the enslavement of Africans, and the Vietnam War, which resulted in the deaths of millions. He argued these events, along with others, contributed to the current political climate, where Americans elected a man with numerous convictions, including charges of sexual abuse and fascist tendencies.

Moore’s comments marked a stark shift from his pre-election optimism. Just days before the election, on November 3, he appeared on MSNBC, expressing confidence that the majority of Americans were opposed to division and violence, believing in the peaceful transfer of power regardless of the election outcome. Moore had predicted that Trump would be decisively defeated by Vice President Kamala Harris, claiming that Trump supporters would be shocked by the results. He had characterized American voters as generally easygoing, pointing out that while not everyone is pleased with every election result, most people accept it and move on.

Before the election, Moore was also critical of Democrats for being overly fearful, mocking those who thought Trump might win. But after the election, his tone shifted, and he criticized both the Democratic Party and Harris’s campaign, suggesting that the party’s alliance with Wall Street and war criminals may have contributed to the outcome. Moore suggested that the party’s future could improve if it embraced a more progressive, working-class approach in the next election.

Despite his disillusionment, Moore concluded his post by advocating for kindness as a way to counteract the divisiveness and cruelty he believes Trump represents. He encouraged his followers to practice kindness in their daily lives and to forgive others, suggesting it was long overdue. Though Moore did not explicitly name Trump, his message was clear—calling for healing and compassion as a remedy for the hatred and division in American politics.
