She’s getting more and more support.
New Hampshire’s Republican Governor, Chris Sununu, steps into the limelight in a fresh TV advertisement endorsing former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley’s presidential bid, just weeks before the state’s GOP primary.
In the ad, Sununu directly addresses the camera, emphasizing Haley’s qualities as a leader who uplifts individuals, embodies the essence of “live free or die” Republican values, and champions fiscal responsibility and personal freedoms. This advertisement, identified by AdImpact, is airing in the Boston media market, significantly covering New Hampshire.
Haley has observed an uptick in support in recent New Hampshire polls following Sununu’s backing, although former President Donald Trump remains ahead in the Republican field as the Jan. 23 contest approaches.
While Sununu, a vocal Trump critic, avoids mentioning the former president by name in the 30-second spot, he positions Haley as a fresh voice of conservative leadership, aiming to move past the tumultuous chapters of the past.
Sununu’s endorsement via advertisement isn’t an isolated incident among GOP governors from early primary states supporting alternatives to Trump. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis previously showcased Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds in a TV ad launched in November, which continues to run in Iowa, signaling Reynolds’ endorsement of DeSantis ahead of their state’s Jan. 15 caucus.
