Haley In Crosshairs Of Trump Super PAC

She better get ready for what’s coming.

The Make America Great Again Inc., a super PAC supporting former President Donald Trump, is shifting its ad focus to Nikki Haley in New Hampshire, marking the first instance of negative campaigning against Trump’s ex-UN ambassador. This move signals Haley’s rising prominence in the early primary state. The group plans to air an ad titled “Really,” specifically mentioning Haley, and initiated its run as per a contract with a CBS station in Boston, covering most of New Hampshire’s media market. Haley swiftly responded on social media, suggesting Trump’s apprehension by stating, “Two days ago, Donald Trump denied our surge in New Hampshire existed. Now, he’s running a negative ad against me. Someone’s getting nervous. #BringIt.”

Recent polls highlight Haley’s traction in New Hampshire, placing her in second position and closing the gap with Trump as the primary approaches. Her endorsement by Chris Sununu, the state’s popular Republican governor, adds weight to her campaign. Despite her progress, surveys consistently show Trump maintaining a significant lead in New Hampshire.

Make America Great Again Inc., relatively inactive in New Hampshire since late June, is now intensifying ad spending in the state. A spokesperson for the super PAC, Karoline Leavitt, emphasized their commitment to exposing what they see as undeserving career politicians seeking the Republican nomination. Specifically targeting Haley, they accused her of falsehoods related to tax increases and a deceptive approach to her candidacy.

Haley’s campaign responded to inquiries by referring back to her earlier tweet. The super PAC has allocated $2 million for ads in New Hampshire, a fraction of the total $45.9 million spent by GOP candidates and external groups on ads in the state. Notably, the leading spender among Republican entities in New Hampshire has been the pro-Haley super PAC, SFA Fund Inc., which has invested $13.9 million in ads, as per AdImpact data.

Make America Great Again Inc. is significantly ramping up its ad expenditure in New Hampshire, reserving over $2.1 million in airtime for the coming three weeks. This aligns with a broader trend of Republicans targeting Haley, evident in a recent debate where candidates, without Trump, directed criticisms at her. Another super PAC, Fight Right, associated with Ron DeSantis, has been tasked with discrediting Haley to voters. Earlier this year, MAGA Inc. had launched an attack ad against DeSantis, criticizing his previous support for a national sales tax.
