The debate has opened everyone’s eyes.
North Dakota GOP Governor Doug Burgum, who is considered a potential candidate for former President Donald Trump’s vice presidential nomination, asserted on Sunday that President Joe Biden is currently unfit to serve as commander in chief.
“Biden… you know, isn’t capable of serving right now,” Burgum stated in an interview with NBC News’ “Meet the Press,” following Biden and Trump’s recent debate. Burgum pointed out that the nation, as well as its adversaries like Putin, Xi, and the ayatollah, witnessed what he described as Biden’s incapacity during the debate. He expressed concern that this perceived weakness has increased national security risks.
Burgum’s remarks come amid Democratic efforts to downplay Biden’s lackluster debate performance, which some within his own party criticized as disjointed and strained.
Responding to questions about potentially joining Trump as his vice president, Burgum indicated that any decision would be between him and the president. Reports have suggested that Burgum remains under consideration for the vice presidential shortlist, alongside Senators Marco Rubio and J.D. Vance.
Regarding Trump’s stance on accepting election results, Burgum aligned with the former president’s position, asserting that Trump would accept the outcome if the election is deemed fair, legal, and secure. He emphasized the importance of secure elections, akin to those in North Dakota, to ensure public confidence across the country.
