Former AG Exposes True Threat To Democracy

Is he right?

Bill Barr, former Attorney General under President Trump, strongly criticized New York prosecutors for what he termed an “obviously political” case against Trump regarding hush money payments, labeling it an “abomination.” During an appearance on “America’s Newsroom,” Barr expressed his disdain for the case, alleging it was politically motivated and predicated on unfounded charges. He argued that such actions exemplify the dangers posed by what he perceives as the “excesses of the progressive left,” accusing them of perverting the justice system and undermining institutions.

As jury selection proceeded in Manhattan for Trump’s trial, Barr’s comments underscored the contentious nature of the legal proceedings. Trump himself decried the trial as “rigged” and politically motivated, addressing his supporters and expressing confidence in his campaign’s resilience despite the legal challenges. Trump emphasized his commitment to addressing crime and expressed optimism about his prospects in New York City.

Trump faces multiple charges, including falsifying business records related to payments to Stormy Daniels during his 2016 presidential campaign. The judge has mandated Trump’s presence throughout the trial, warning of consequences for non-compliance. Additionally, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has threatened to hold Trump in contempt for alleged violations of a gag order, further heightening tensions surrounding the trial.

Despite their past differences, Barr affirmed his intention to support the Republican ticket in the upcoming elections, citing his belief in minimizing harm to the country. He warned against what he sees as the dangers of the progressive agenda, asserting that while Trump’s actions may be risky, the continuation of the Biden administration would be akin to “national suicide” in his view.
