Biden Pushed To Abolish Supreme Court

This liberal author has gone off the deep end.

Liberal writer Fran Lebowitz recently urged President Biden to “dissolve” the Supreme Court during a conversation with Bill Maher on “Real Time.”

In a segment aired on Saturday, the 73-year-old author expressed her disdain for the high court, labeling it “Trump’s harem” and criticizing the ruling regarding presidential immunity in a case involving the former president. “This court is so disgraceful that it shouldn’t even be called the Supreme Court,” she stated. “It’s an insult to call it that. It’s not even a court… essentially, it’s a harem. It’s Trump’s harem. When they ruled that the former president is above accountability—essentially saying ‘you’re not just a president, you’re a king’—I thought, ‘Biden is still the president, yet no one seems to notice.’ I believe Biden should dissolve the Supreme Court.”

Maher challenged her suggestion, responding, “Dissolve the Supreme Court? Come on.” To which Lebowitz retorted, “I’m the president, I’m the king now, like you said, and go home.” Maher sarcastically acknowledged her centrist view before shifting the discussion.

In July, the Supreme Court issued a significant ruling regarding presidential immunity, affirming that a former president enjoys considerable protection from prosecution for official acts but not for unofficial actions. This decision by the conservative-majority court, which includes three justices appointed by Trump, means that the trial judge in the lower court case against Trump must determine whether the charges stem from his official or unofficial conduct. Trump hailed the ruling as “brilliantly written and wise,” considering it a significant victory for the Constitution and democracy. Conversely, President Biden criticized it as a “dangerous precedent” and advocated for reforms to the Supreme Court, such as term limits, a new code of conduct, and a constitutional amendment to limit presidential immunity.

Lebowitz, known for her appearances on “The Late Show with David Letterman,” has a reputation for making provocative statements against Trump. In 2019, she suggested on “Real Time” that impeachment was insufficient to hold him accountable, asserting that he deserved far worse. She controversially remarked, “We should turn him over to the Saudis… Maybe they can do the same for him,” referring to the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, believed to be orchestrated by the Saudi government. Following backlash, she later apologized, admitting she hadn’t intended to make such a statement.

Reflecting on her comments, Lebowitz told Maher, “I had twelve cups of coffee. I regret saying it.” Maher interjected, emphasizing the importance of not wishing harm upon any president, regardless of personal feelings. “No matter who the president is, we don’t want physical harm,” he stated at the time.
