Harris’s Continued Absence Raises Eyebrows

Many people are calling her out.

Kevin O’Leary, known for his role on “Shark Tank,” criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for her lack of interaction with the press since becoming the Democratic presidential nominee. O’Leary stated on Monday’s “Outnumbered” that it is unacceptable for any candidate for President of the United States to avoid press conferences. He emphasized that every president, regardless of the situation, has historically engaged with the media.

O’Leary, who is also the chairman of O’Leary Ventures, expressed frustration over Harris’s avoidance of detailed policy discussions, which he believes are essential for investors and voters. He insisted that he and others deserve clear answers on her policies, underscoring that his demand for information is reasonable.

Harris has not held a formal news conference or provided detailed policy explanations for over five weeks since becoming the Democratic nominee. Despite this, her campaign has received favorable media coverage, with a conservative study showing that 84% of her coverage on ABC, CBS, and NBC’s evening newscasts has been positive since her candidacy announcement.

On “Outnumbered,” co-host Emily Compagno criticized the media for acting as a surrogate for Harris and the Biden-Harris administration, pointing to a contentious interview between ABC anchor Jonathan Karl and Senator Tom Cotton. Karl defended Harris’s current stance on private health insurance, which contrasted with her previous position. This defense led to questions about media bias, with Compagno and fellow co-host Kayleigh McEnany arguing that the press has consistently supported Harris.

Former President Trump also criticized the media’s treatment of his campaign, describing the coverage as excessively hostile. Trump mentioned that he is considering skipping the September 10 debate due to concerns that the Harris campaign is attempting to alter the agreed-upon debate rules.
