Top Advisor Calls Out Harris’s Silence

She owes the public responses.

Recently, a Harris campaign advisor acknowledged that Vice President Kamala Harris needs to address questions from the public regarding her shifts on various policies, including fracking. Quentin Fulks, Harris’ deputy campaign manager, confirmed during an appearance on Fox News’s “Media Buzz” that Harris would participate in an interview by the end of the month to clarify her policy positions.

Fulks emphasized that Harris owes it to the American people to explain her stance changes and blamed former President Trump for spreading misinformation about her views. He indicated that Harris will directly communicate her positions to the public rather than focus on Trump’s criticisms. The Harris campaign has been criticized for its lack of transparency, with no detailed policy positions available on their campaign website and the recent Democratic National Convention (DNC) platform highlighting President Biden more than Harris.

Senator Tom Cotton criticized Harris on ABC News, asserting that she needs to address her policy shifts publicly to give voters a clear understanding of her potential presidency. Some of Harris’ supporters, however, believe she should prioritize high-impact activities like rallying supporters rather than engaging in interviews. Rick Wilson of the Lincoln Project and filmmaker Quentin Tarantino both suggested that Harris’ focus should remain on campaign strategies that energize voters.

Delegates at the DNC had mixed reactions to Harris’ media presence. While some, like Heather Pirowski, urged patience and suggested that Harris would eventually address the media, others were perplexed by the criticism of her limited public appearances. A delegate from Texas dismissed the criticism as reminiscent of past political attacks.
