GOP Candidate Aims To Shatter Democratic Dominance

Democrats have been in charge for three decades.

Mike Ramone, a Republican candidate for governor of Delaware, is campaigning on a platform aimed at ending what he characterizes as 32 years of single-party rule under the Democrats in the state. Currently the minority leader of the Delaware House of Representatives, Ramone seeks to win the governor’s office and flip it to Republican control for the first time in over three decades. He emphasizes that the state needs balance and fresh perspectives to address its challenges effectively.

Ramone argues that under Democratic leadership, Delaware has seen significant declines in education, healthcare, and business environments. He also highlights the state’s economic struggles, including negative GDP growth. Ramone believes that a shift in leadership is necessary to address these issues and to promote fiscal responsibility and better management of state resources.

With over 40 years of business experience, Ramone plans to focus on creating higher-paying jobs and improving the state’s economic landscape. He criticizes the current administration for poor management, particularly in education and healthcare, and advocates for a more efficient use of taxpayer money.

Despite running in a presidential election year, Ramone is confident that his business background and local focus will resonate with voters. He argues that his experience and understanding of Delaware’s needs will help him address state-specific issues effectively, rather than being swayed by national politics.

Delaware’s last Republican governor was Mike Castle, who served from 1985 to 1993. As the current Democratic governor, John Carney, is term-limited, Ramone sees this as an opportunity to challenge the status quo and offer new solutions for the state’s future.
