He’s calling Biden out.
In response to President Joe Biden’s decision to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race, former President Donald Trump described Biden as “the worst president in the history of the United States” in an interview with NBC News. Trump criticized Biden’s presidency, citing what he viewed as severe damage to the country, particularly concerning energy independence and immigration policies.
Trump expressed that Biden’s departure was not surprising, suggesting that Biden was unqualified for the role from the start and should have remained out of the political spotlight. He emphasized this point further by implying that Biden’s actions were detrimental to the country.
Ahead of Biden’s withdrawal, a senior adviser to Trump noted that while the campaign had insisted it was indifferent to who led the Democratic ticket, there was a preference for Biden to remain in the race due to their strategic planning. Internal polling within the Trump campaign showed mixed results: some polls indicated Harris might perform better against Trump, while others favored Trump over her.
At a rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Trump continued his critique of Biden, claiming that attempts to remove him from the race undermined democratic principles. He also took to Truth Social to express his dissatisfaction and criticize both Biden and Democratic supporters who pushed for his exit from the race.
