She’s ready to face off Trump’s VP pick.
Vice President Kamala Harris has confirmed her willingness to engage in a debate with former President Donald Trump’s eventual running mate.
Harris has agreed to participate in the debate, offering July 23rd and August 13th as potential dates. Trump is anticipated to reveal his choice for vice president during the GOP convention, commencing on July 15th. Expressing confidence in his decision-making process, Trump hinted at the announcement occurring in Milwaukee, emphasizing the upcoming event’s significance.
A representative from the Biden campaign expressed eagerness for the Trump campaign to confirm one of the proposed dates, thereby finalizing the debate schedule for the campaign.
The debate is slated to be aired by CBS News and conducted within the network’s studios. The Biden-Harris campaign suggested that the initial debate be scheduled for late June, following Trump’s anticipated conclusion of his New York criminal trial and Biden’s return from the G-7 Summit, where he is expected to meet with world leaders. Additionally, a second presidential debate is proposed for September before the commencement of early voting.
The Biden-Harris campaign has outlined specific conditions for the debates, including hosting them inside a television studio equipped with microphones programmed to automatically cut off when a speaker exceeds their allotted time. Moreover, they advocate for a format involving only the two candidates and the moderator, excluding any in-person audience to prevent disruptive behavior. The campaign also specified their preference to exclude participation from individuals such as Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., or other independent or third-party candidates.
