He’s unstoppable.
In the recent North Dakota Republican caucuses, Former President Donald Trump secured a win over former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, according to NBC News projections. This victory boosts Trump’s momentum as he progresses towards securing the GOP presidential nomination, with the North Dakota contest being the final one before Super Tuesday.
Haley, despite winning only one GOP nominating contest in Washington, D.C., has managed to accumulate delegates from other early voting states. However, Trump’s victory in North Dakota could potentially solidify his lead, especially if he secures at least 60% of the statewide vote, which would grant him all 29 of North Dakota’s GOP delegates.
The stakes are high as Super Tuesday approaches, with over a dozen states contributing 865 delegates, representing 36% of all delegates in the race. The outcome of Super Tuesday will significantly impact the trajectory of the presidential nomination race, potentially consolidating the lead for one of the candidates.
The ultimate goal for the candidates is to secure the majority of their party’s delegates before the Republican National Convention convenes in the summer. With 1,215 delegates needed out of a total of 2,429, the candidate who achieves this feat will emerge as the party’s nominee for the presidential election.
Meanwhile, North Dakota Democrats are gearing up for their presidential primary on March 30, adding another dimension to the electoral landscape. As the race intensifies, candidates on both sides of the aisle will continue to vie for delegates and support to bolster their chances of securing their party’s nomination.
