She really believes she’s going to better than him.
Nikki Haley, the former U.N. Ambassador, shared her uncertainty about whether Donald Trump would uphold the Constitution if re-elected president during an interview on NBC News’ “Meet the Press.” Haley admitted to being unsure, stating, “I don’t know. I mean, you always want to think someone will, but I don’t know,” in response to a question about Trump’s intentions.
Haley pointed to Trump’s past remarks about seeking “revenge” or “retribution” in a potential second term, questioning the implications of such statements and emphasizing that only Trump could clarify his intentions.
Her comments coincided with the approach of Super Tuesday, where Haley faced the possibility of not winning any of the 15 states voting in the GOP presidential primary, as Trump appeared on track to secure the Republican nomination.
Haley has openly criticized Trump’s actions surrounding the January 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol, condemning his description of the day as “beautiful.” She also rebuked his refusal to accept the results of the 2020 election, emphasizing that Biden had won and Trump’s persistence in spreading falsehoods was harmful to the nation.
Concerns have been voiced by both Republicans and Democrats who have faced Trump’s criticism, expressing apprehension about potential “retribution” if he were to return to office. Haley stressed the importance of no president being above the law and highlighted the pending Supreme Court decision regarding Trump’s claim of presidential immunity over criminal election interference charges. If granted immunity, federal charges against Trump, including conspiracy to defraud the U.S. and obstructing an official proceeding, could be dismissed.
