She should quietly exit the stage.
Nikki Haley, the former U.N. Ambassador, is encountering mounting pressure to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race as the Republican National Committee (RNC) nearly entertained a resolution to designate former President Trump as the party’s presumptive nominee for the 2024 presidential election.
Trump secured significant victories in the Iowa caucuses and the New Hampshire primary this month, leading experts to cast doubt on Haley’s prospects, even in the upcoming South Carolina primary, her home state and the only alternative to the former president still in contention.
Following Trump’s triumph in New Hampshire, former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy publicly urged Haley to exit the race during a Fox News appearance, asserting that the Republican primary was essentially over, and the party and the country would benefit from acknowledging this reality.
RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel echoed these sentiments on Fox News, stating that while Haley ran a commendable campaign, the voters were sending a clear message to unite around the eventual nominee, anticipated to be Donald Trump. McDaniel emphasized the urgency of rallying against President Joe Biden, citing concerns about border security, the influx of fentanyl, and escalating inflation.
The calls for Haley to step aside gained momentum, with influential figures such as Republican donor Andy Sabin advising her to “know when to walk away,” and Rep. Greg Steube, a Trump supporter, asserting that there was no viable path forward for her.
Senators JD Vance, Marsha Blackburn, Eric Schmitt, and House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik joined the chorus, urging Haley to conclude her campaign. The increased pressure coincided with the RNC’s consideration of a resolution that, if approved, would have officially declared Trump as the party’s presumptive nominee for president in 2024. However, Fox News Digital obtained a copy of the resolution on Thursday, revealing that it was subsequently withdrawn.
