There needs to be an arrest made.
A New Hampshire resident, Tyler Anderson, faces arrest after allegedly issuing a death threat targeting Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy and his supporters at a campaign event in the state, as disclosed by the U.S. Department of Justice.
Reportedly, Anderson responded to a Ramaswamy campaign text promoting a meet-and-greet breakfast in Portsmouth by expressing a desire to “blow his brains out” alongside everyone attending the event. Although the charging document filed against Anderson in the U.S. District Court in New Hampshire did not explicitly name the candidate, the campaign confirmed that Ramaswamy was indeed the intended target of the threat.
Acknowledging law enforcement’s swift response, a spokesperson for Ramaswamy conveyed gratitude for their handling of the situation and extended prayers for the safety of all Americans, as reported by NBC News.
Following his apprehension, Anderson reportedly confessed to sending threatening messages not only to the candidate but also to “multiple other campaigns,” according to the affidavit presented to authorities.
Federal agents secured a search warrant for Anderson’s residence, aiming to seize his Samsung Galaxy smartphone and any firearms presumed to be on-site, although the specifics regarding the types of weapons or their retrieval remain undisclosed.
Anderson faces charges for transmitting threats through interstate commerce, carrying a potential maximum penalty of five years in prison and a fine up to $250,000 if found guilty. He is scheduled to appear in Concord federal court later on the said charge.
